Project "Fibre to the deep Ocean"

Hello! My name is Luís Winters. I am a masters student Offshore & Dredging engineering at the University of Technology Delft with a bachelor degree in Civil engineering.  

 

Besides the management  of this project I will be working on the technical challenges of the installation of the DTS cable. During this research project we will focus on the design of a fibre optic cable which measures the temperature in the ocean. With this new technique we will measure till 1000 m depth and provide near real- time and spatially dense data.  Measuring the temperature profile is key to understand and obtain energy which is stored in the ocean.
